PixelTap, the Telegram game launched by Pixelverse as part of its PIXFI token sale on The Open Network (TON). This sale is set to go live this Thursday July 18th at 12:00 pm UTC with major centralized exchanges also coming in hot!
The launch of the PIXFI token coincides with skyrocketing interest in Telegram games.
Following an earlier 35 million players pull and the year’s biggest gaming token launch in May by Notcoin, other games on Telegram gained more attention from players. However, we haven’t seen any tokens from those other games yet. Hamster Kombat has said it will launch its token on TON this month, but there’s no date yet. The creators of the Notcoin-like game TapSwap have said they’ll go live sometime soon.
Pixelverse claims it brought 50 million new players alone in the month of June. Pixelverse’s co-founder, Kori Leon said. — ”We are breaking the trend of Telegram games and launching our token soon.”
Pixelverse disclosed last week that it landed $7.5 million in additional funding from Galaxy and other investors. The company first unveiled a $5.5 million raise alongside Delphi Digital, Merit Circle, and others earlier this summer.
But can the new wave of growing Telegram games give us a taste of the hype we got from Notcoin? This is the question that 78 million players can’t wait to get answered.
“While we wait on the outcome of these tap-to-earn trend, it’s too early to tell if Pixelverse will go as far as Notcoin” Leon said. But, there is no hiding away from the fact that Telegram mini-games indeed injected millions of users to the crypto space within the past few months; the financial implications notwithstanding.
This naturally leads players to the even-bigger question; whether the PIXFI token airdrop is within sight. Leon explained that the aim is to spread out rewards and incentives rather than dropping it all on users at once.
”This makes Pixelverse sound more like a play-to-earn game at least, using tapping mechanics in PixelTap to grow their user-base and develop them into its own community before broadening the game itself.” “Some of this has not yet been clarified, but players will be able to claim and receive PIXFI tokens (and in-game assets) as they play on. – Kori Leon

Leon noted that the project is seeking to “revamp” tap-to-earn incentives by not telling users how the rewards are allocated. Nevertheless, 30% of all PIXFI tokens will be earmarked for for permanent in-game benefits in the long run.”
