Lucid Group and EVIQ have started a strategic partnership to transform the electric vehicle charging landscape in Saudi Arabia. They aim to make charging solutions more accessible by developing high-speed charging stations throughout the Kingdom. They also hope to promote wider EV adoption with the implementation of these high-speed charging stations.
This strategic partnership is a significant step towards boosting the EV infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. It also positions the country as a global hub for EV technology innovation and development. The strategic partnership involves utilising EVIQ’s extensive network of fast-charging stations to enhance the ownership experience for Lucid customers.
As part of their commitment to the region, Lucid is making efforts to ensure their Lucid Air vehicle, known for its fast-charging capabilities, is easily accessible to Saudi consumers.
Faisal Sultan, VP and Managing Director Middle East at Lucid, highlights the importance of this strategic partnership in addressing the challenges of mass EV adoption, particularly in terms of reliable and convenient charging infrastructure.
Equally passionate about the partnership, EVIQ CEO Mohammad Bakr Gazzaz states that their mission is to equip Saudi drivers with superior EV chargers and technologies. By teaming up with Lucid, EVIQ can expand its fast-charging network. This alignment supports the national goal of establishing a widespread charging infrastructure by 2030, as envisioned in the Saudi Green Initiative.
The strategic partnership aims to build 1,000 charging points throughout the Kingdom. 5,000 EV chargers will be installed. This project will be completed in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Additionally, this strategic partnership between Lucid Motors and EVIQ is a catalyst that’ll develop public high-speed charging capabilities. It will also support the adoption of electric vehicles in Saudi Arabia.
