The US House of Representatives has passed the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act by a margin of 216 to 192. This bill bans the Fed from creating its own Central Bank Digital Currency to safeguard the financial privacy of persons and prevent government control and surveillance over transactions. The very small number of sponsors and supporters of the bill imposes a tough road ahead in the Senate.
